What is This Is Tewkesbury This Is Tewkesbury
Tewkesbury is very fortunate in having a lively community. Everywhere you look there are groups, large and small, voluntary, public sector and private, beavering away at their chosen activity. Some are well known: our host, Tewkesbury Abbey stands out. Some are no more than a few people with a cause, a service, a passion, a hobby or just an opportunity to meet and talk. All contribute to our civic life. But times change, and maybe civic life isn't as strong as it was pre-Covid. People may be less inclined to get involved. And wider Tewkesbury is expanding, new housing developments bring people who don't know what happens locally, or know where to find out. This can be very isolating.
This is what the This Is Tewkesbury Community Day is about. Bringing groups and the public together, getting people involved, reducing isolation and strengthening our social fabric.
